We’re waiting in line at a fish stall while the couple ahead of us orders. The lady pulls something out of her bag and unwraps it. It's a giant pickle, about the size of a microphone.
She takes bites at a consistent rhythm, pausing only to chat to the counter staff. And then, just as they get their order, she finishes, as if the size of the pickle were aligned exactly to the length of this transaction.
